Hope you enjoy viewing my growing art works.

I started painting in early 2006 when I joined our local art group B.A.V.A. (Biloela Area Visual Artists).

I have attended a few workshops already & hope to attend many more, to increase my knowledge & skills in painting.

I am thoroughly enjoying my art !

My small studio which contains my easel, tables & lots & lots of painting paraphynalia, is where I listen to my music & follow on the path my creativity takes me . . .

About my art

My work is continuously evolving, hopefully in an interesting way . . .

In 2006 when I first started, I was doing mainly pastels & most of my work was representational.

I am now exploring the intuitive abstract. Abstracts have captured my imagination like no other style ... the unraveling of each stage, each layer is like an unknown journey, revealing itself only at the end ... to me abstracts are exciting, fresh & essentially authentic!

I work predominantly in acrylics & mixed media but have plans to venture into oils one day (once I acquire a well-ventilated studio!)

I LOVE rich, vibrant colours & textures in paintings!

Native American Indian - Dream Catcher . . .

I bought this beautiful 'Dream Catcher' today. The card attached says . . .
"Indians believed that dreams, both good and bad, descended from the night sky.
Bad dreams were captured in a web and held there until the rays of the morning sun evaporated them.
Good dreams slipped through the web on to the dreamer."
I like that thought :) I'm putting it into my art room.
No, I don't plan to sleep in there :) Just thought it might look good in amongst my arty stuff. I love the orange & purple!

Beautiful Dreamcatcher! I remember one time when my nine year old son was having recurring nightmares so I put a Dreamcatcher in his bedroom......the nightmares stopped.

Cheers,
Serena :)
